Meet Valerie

I'm Valerie, founder of The Language Place, and a mother of three multilingual children.

I know what it's like to want language to hold your family together, and to watch it get complicated by school, extended family, screens and everyday exhaustion. I've had the wins, and the moments that didn't go how I planned.

For years, I worked as a change management consultant, helping individuals and teams move through organisational change. I left that career to build The Language Place. That same skill — helping people through transition with a clear, structured pathway rather than guesswork — is what shapes how I support families now.

The Language Place uses the LingFLoWS® methodology, a structured, evidence-informed approach to multilingual family consulting. I'm currently completing my LingFLoWS® certification, finishing in October 2026, and I'm working with families now.

My approach is warm, practical and centred around you and your family. You don't need to have it figured out before you reach out.
